Compassion Redefined

In Latin, ‘com’ means ‘to live’ in. The obsolete definition of ‘passion’ is suffering. Compassion or ‘to live-with passion’ would then mean ‘to live-with suffering’. ‘Passion’ also means ‘the state of being acted upon by external agents or forces’. We could then interpret that ‘compassion’ means ‘to live-in the state of being acted upon by external forces’. Could this then be the ‘reason’ we suffer?
Another definition of passion is ‘love’. Compassion or ‘to live-with passion would mean ‘to live-with love’. Compassion is one word with two totally different meanings and therefore totally different perceptions of life experience.
One is victim and one is creator. One is masculine and one is feminine.
One blames the other accepts responsibility. One is ego based and the other is heart based.
The patriarchal, masculine energy of compassion would blame something ‘outside’ of our selves for our own suffering. We experience life as limited. In looking at the masculine energies we find a male God Head, Father, or director who seems punishing. We live in fear, we live in judgement and we experience pain. We see a male savior, Jesus Christ, who said to have died on the cross to ease our suffering. When Jesus was taken down from the cross he was taken into a cave where he spent time with divine feminine energies, Mary and other women, who then breathed life into his soul and gave him a new life. They became as one. He showed us what we needed to do then but we really didn’t or still don’t understand how to ease our own suffering and become love.
When we continue to live our lives with the belief that we are victims in our personal experience we limit ourselves. We in turn project a world of pain, lack and suffering. We project a world without love. Something is wrong with the picture. We have accepted this half-truth when in reality it is far from the whole-truth.
Our souls long for wholeness or holiness. We are forever seeking something outside our selves to find the love that we need to make ourselves whole.
In our current society and belief system we use the obvious gender differences as our model. Women seek a male body to join with and believe this will make them whole or holy and men seek a female body to join with and believe this will make them whole or holy. The dilemma that we face is that we are seeking in the physical world what can only be found in the spiritual world or our inner world. The inner world is where the feminine energy lives.
The journey towards wholeness or holiness would then mean that each of us as individuals would need to seek the feminine energy ‘within’ regardless of gender because we have all been raised under the patriarchy or masculine energies and operate under that specific belief system. Having a female body doesn’t equate understanding the power of ‘the feminine energies’. Feminine energies have nothing to do with weakness, powerlessness, genitalia, fingernail polish, skirts, make-up, long hair or all the outside accessories that represent the female body in our society. Male bodies must step up to plate and quite looking for a Mother or female body to fix it and make it all better. When go ‘inside’ our selves we do so to join the masculine energy with the ‘feminine energy within’ in a ‘sacred union’. It is there on the ‘inside’ that we experience love and compassion for our selves first hand. ‘Inside’ is the place that we become energetically balanced and become God and Goddess simultaneously and know wholeness or holiness. We are no longer separate. We become all that is. We become the embodiment of the divine, which is androgynous by nature.
When we acknowledge the existence of the Goddess, Mother, or feminine energy within we recognize that she gave us life. Feminine energy destroys as well as creates. Feminine energy is powerful. She destroys all belief systems that no longer serve our souls and creates new belief systems that serve our souls therefore serve humanity. We learn humbleness and humility and are given grace to continue with our soul’s evolution. Mother or feminine energy is understood to be all loving and all giving. When we understand the power of feminine energy we understand life as limitless. Mother or feminine energy sees only perfection. There is no need to fix anyone else, save anyone else, love anyone else except our selves. When we experience this type of love for our selves or union within, we project love, we project beauty, we project self-respect, we project bounty, we project freedom and we project perfection. Our world changes instantly. We are in the moment. We understand that what we give is what we receive at the same time. We begin to understand co-creation, co-existence, and co-operation. We begin to live life with compassion. We begin to ‘to live-with passion’ and ‘to live-with love’. We become the conscious creators of our reality. We accept responsibility for all that we see.
Many ancient shamanic cultures practice what is known as ‘a death ritual’ or ‘ego’ death ritual as way to alter our perceptions and ease our own suffering just as Jesus did. Other ancient shamanic cultures practice what is called, ‘the dance of life’. When we ‘dance life’ we deny nothing and give life to everything.
Trance Dance is an ancient shamanic practice and is one way to have direct experience with or activate the ‘feminine energies within’. In ancient cultures, trance dance was a known as a form of ‘worship and prayer’. Trance dance is a way to ‘recreate’ ourselves, transform energy, and alter perceptions of reality. We learn to live from the inside out. When we trance dance we feel a connection to the original deity ‘Mother Nature’. We begin to feel our connection to all living things. It is through this connection that we ultimately develop respect, love, and passion for all life. Trance dance causes us to think with our hearts, as our ancestors did, not with our minds. When we trance dance, we return home to our bodies and feel the totality of our existence. We begin to live our lives with passion. We become one with all this is. We come to know and live in our hearts.
